The mission of Caleb and Calder Sloan’s Awesome Foundation is to help disadvantaged children in need as well as children who are dealing with loss. The Foundation repairs schools and playgrounds create colorful murals and identify tangible items schools and educational facilities need but can not afford.
After our son Calder was killed in a tragic accident we felt a call to action. His self-portrait from first grade became an international social media sensation with the words: Adventure, Laughter, Kindness added to it as a catchphrase. Incorporating art and fun into our give back events quickly became important to us.
As the Foundation continues to grow we plan to create programs continuing to help children cope with loss.
This can include things like one-week free summer camp which includes, physical activity, group activities, therapy/art therapy. Two camps that fall into this category are: Experience Camps and Pediatric Psychology Associates Surf and Paddle Board Camp.
